Overview
Join AtkinsRéalis' Ports & Marine team in Western Canada and play a key role in shaping coastal and marine infrastructure across the region. Based in Canada with a strong preference for British Columbia, this hybrid role offers hands-on engineering work, close collaboration with multidisciplinary experts, and direct client interaction. You will contribute to impactful marine projects while building technical depth and progressively taking on increased design responsibility within a respected global engineering organization.

Your role
Reports to: Team Lead, Ports & Marine – Western Canada
· Develop analyses, designs, and detailed engineering solutions for ports and marine structures under the guidance of senior staff.
· Prepare design criteria, drawings, specifications, and technical reports for marine assets.
· Contribute to concept development and feasibility studies with clear assumptions, options, and sketches.
· Provide construction-phase support through RFIs, submittals, field observations, and as-built reviews.
· Coordinate with BIM, drafting, geotechnical, coastal, and seismic specialists to ensure buildable designs.
· Support tracking of scope, schedule, budget, risk, and change within assigned work packages.
· Communicate clearly with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulators.
About you
B.A.Sc./B.Eng. in Civil or Structural Engineering; P.Eng. (EGBC) or eligibility.
Approximately 3 to 7 years in ports and marine structural design or closely related work.
Ability to apply civil or structural engineering principles to ports and marine infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, or similar tools.
Ability to design with constructability in mind and translate concepts into clear drawings and specifications.
Aptitude for clear technical communication in written reports and collaborative meetings.
Proficiency in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering projects.
Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $75,600 - $104,000 annually ($38,77-$53,33/hour). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.
