The Role
This is a site-based position, reporting into the regional Head of EHS, with responsibility for driving health, safety and environmental standards across the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain site health & safety policies to prevent incidents and ensure compliance
- Carry out regular site inspections and report findings to senior project leadership
- Track and close out actions from audits and previous reports within agreed timelines
- Support accident / incident investigations and produce detailed reports
- Ensure all site personnel and subcontractors receive appropriate inductions
- Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for suitability
- Oversee permits to work and ensure compliance with safe systems of work
- Ensure correct storage and handling of hazardous materials (COSHH)
- Maintain high standards of site welfare, setup, and safety signage
- Promote a strong safety culture across site teams and subcontractors
Requirements
- Proven experience working within a construction environment
- Strong understanding of site-based health & safety processes
- Relevant EHS qualification (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent)
- Good knowledge of HSE legislation and ability to interpret it
- Strong communication skills across all levels of a project team
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments
- Strong organisational and decision-making capability
