Overview (Short) – BIM Designer / Lead Designer
The BIM Designer/Lead Designer role at AtkinsRéalis GDC Transportation focuses on delivering advanced BIM and CAD designs for major global rail and bridge infrastructure projects. Based in Bangalore or Gurgaon, the position involves creating and managing 3D models, producing detailed 2D drawings, coordinating multidisciplinary BIM workflows, and ensuring compliance with AtkinsRéalis standards and international BIM practices. The role requires strong modelling expertise, understanding of BIM standards, experience with tools like MicroStation, OpenBuildings, ProjectWise/ACC, and the ability to collaborate within large engineering teams. Responsibilities:
- Should be able to develop CAD/BIM 3D Models / 2D Drawings to the standards & codes
- Should be able to produce medium to complex 3D modelling for bridges & Rail structures
- Competent in producing GA and RC detailing drawings for bridges and Rail structures.
- Work with the Information Manager and project teams to assist in the development and implementation of BIM strategies, BIM Execution Plans, workflows and processes on projects in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Corporate Standards, Client requirements and industry best practice.
- Should be able to produce 3D models and extract information directly from models to create 2D drawings, schedules, setting out, quantities and other deliverables.
- Should be able to develop models and technical content including clash detection and compliance with BEP.
- Should be able to follow OCRA process in EDMS workflow
- Should have strong written & verbal communication in English
- Experience of working in Common Data Environment (CDE) like ProjectWise / ACC
- Apply AtkinsRéalis Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) standards and Business Management System (BMS).
