About the Role
We are seeking a skilled LTE/5G Operation Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge, training, and experience in supporting end-to-end LTE/5G systems. This role involves system acceptance, upgrades, support, maintenance, and other related duties to ensure the smooth operation of our LTE/5G networks. You will utilize network management and monitoring tools to design, optimize, and integrate LTE and digital transmission networks in accordance with BHP Operational Technology standards and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Acceptance: Conduct thorough testing and validation of LTE/5G systems to ensure they meet specified requirements and standards.
- Upgrades: Plan, execute, and monitor system upgrades to enhance performance and capabilities.
- Support: Provide technical support to resolve issues and ensure optimal system functionality.
- Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks to prevent system downtime and ensure reliability.
- Problem Resolution: Provide input into the resolution of problems (both reactive and proactive), assisting with identifying root causes and implementing remedies to prevent future incidents.
- Asset Management: Contribute to the development of asset management plans to meet asset management and maintenance strategies.
- Strategic Opportunities: Identify strategic opportunities that deliver long-term value for the business, validate strategic direction, and identify key priorities.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to LTE/5G systems.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, changes, and support activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of LTE/5G systems.
- Training: Provide training and guidance to team members and stakeholders on LTE/5G system operations.
About You
You should be flexible and able to travel for projects as required and when safe to do so. Experience working within a matrix organization environment and exposure to heavy industries such as mining, manufacturing, and utilities will be beneficial.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in supporting end-to-end 5G systems.
- Strong knowledge of LTE/5G technologies and protocols.
- Experience with system acceptance, upgrades, support, and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications in LTE/5G technologies are a plus.
- Ability to understand and communicate highly technical information to non-technical audiences.
