Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. Your Impact
Red Chris is now recruiting for the position of Manager-Operations Readiness with a competitive base salary between $170,000-240,000 with an additional short-term and long term incentives. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies.
As the Manager, Business Readiness, you'll lead the planning and execution of critical readiness activities to ensure a smooth transition from project development to full operational success. Your leadership will drive collaboration across teams to deliver safe, efficient, and well-integrated operational outcomes.
Essential Duties
- Lead the development of scope, schedule and budget for the Business Readiness to support the Functional areas (that include mining, maintenance and process Operations amongst all other functions).
- Provide effective collaboration between the Operations team and the Project team to integrate operational and maintenance needs into the plant design for optimal operability and maintainability.
- Ensure that all Functional area managers are guided and united in accomplishing the Business Readiness project deliverables according to Global standards.
- Offer professional guidance and specialized insights on critical aspects of Newmont's business operations and the Investment Process to assist the Project Director with various evaluations such as third-party independent reviews, Global Project functional peer reviews, technical reviews, Value Assurance reviews, and more.
- Offer guidance and expertise to address risks and opportunities related to cross-functional teams and tasks, which may range in complexity. Establish strong connections with Global Functional Leads and leverage advanced project management skills to guarantee effective problem-solving.
- Coordinate cross-functional team meetings to create Stage 4 Business Readiness plans and establish commissioning, start-up, and ramp-up strategies. Collaborate with Project Functional Leads and the Project Director to address any necessary corrective actions.
- Monitor the incorporation of Corporate, Regional and Site operating standards in Business Readiness plans and activities and provide quality checks until transfer to operations.
- Provide Business Readiness & Process Ops/Maintenance technical expertise to the Red Chris Block Cave
- Confirm compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and company policies throughout the business readiness process.
- Monitoring Progress: Tracking the progress of readiness activities and making necessary adjustments.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; advanced business training is a plus.
• Experience: Extensive background in corporate, engineering, or operations within large-scale mining projects.
• Proven leadership experience guiding technical teams or consultants.
• Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of mining processes, project risk management, and operational readiness.
