The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an
Accounts Payable/Time and Attendance Clerk to join our
Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
The position will be based in Greater Sudbury (Falconbridge), Ontario.
This is a full-time, permanent, unionized position.
Work location is not accessible by public transportation.
Duties and Accountabilities:
This role is responsible for processing supplier invoices, employee expense reports, medical expenses, and cheque requests (sundry invoices) with accuracy and efficiency. This role ensures that P&M and OCT employees are compensated in accordance with their respective collective agreements and employment standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining open communication with departments to facilitate timely and accurate payments to vendors and employees.
- Verifying purchase order accuracy, ensuring correct allocation to general ledger accounts, and reconciling vendor statements.
- Managing employee P-card purchases and handling other general accounting tasks as required.
- Identifying and addressing discrepancies, irregularities, or non-compliance with established procedures, taking prompt corrective action when necessary.
- Upholding strict confidentiality in all internal and external interactions.
This role demands exceptional attention to detail, sound judgement, and a proactive approach to issue resolution.

Education And Skills
Incumbents must possess a minimum two year College diploma, specializing in business or acceptable equivalent education and/or experience. The incumbent must have successfully completed the Payroll Compliance Practioner (PCP) through the Canadian Payroll Association’s Certificate Program. The incumbent must have a minimum of three or more years accounts payable and payroll experience; or acceptable equivalent education and experience. General knowledge of accounting and mining terminologies required. Must be proficient in the use of personal computers, in particular, a good working knowledge of SAP,SIMS, Microsoft Word and Excel. Must demonstrate strong analytical problem solving skills and effective communication skills. Requires the ability to handle large volume functions and work under stress. Must have the ability to work as part of a team and without direct supervision. Incumbents must respect the confidential nature of this work.
