Job Description
The Resource Geologist’s role is for effective acquisition of geological data in both the operation and project areas, enabling resource evaluations, block model updates, reporting and identification of geologically complex areas.
This role involves rigorous data validation processes using specialized and appropriately customized software to ensure data integrity and a high standard of geological input in block model updates.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and perform geological data acquisition & validations
- Assemble, analyze and validate data using specialized software and customized routines
- Effective evaluation & reporting of resources
- Manage monthly reconciliation processes
- Create & update geological models with current geological data
- Promote safety by ensuring compliance to applicable standards and procedures
- Competent application of QA/QC procedures
This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Geology
Qualifications
- Geology Degree (preferably BSc Hons.)
Experience
- 3 – 5 years experience in Bushveld and Platinum Geology
- Experience in active and direct involvement in Exploration and Data Management
- Geological Project management experience
Knowledge And Skills
- Geological Project management experience
- Computer Literacy, proficiency in MS Office, Microstation, Acquire, Datamine & Datamine
- People Management
- Safety and Health
- Exploration and Mining Knowledge (Production experience in board & pillar mining
- Valid driver’s licence
