About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic and successful team. As a valued member of the Commercial Department team and reporting directly to the Supply Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
- Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing and quality.
- Manage purchase orders from creation to delivery, ensuring timely procurement.
- Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to drive efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Work closely with departments to understand purchasing needs and requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring procurement activities align with company policies, obligations, and relevant regulations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an open-cut coal mine
- Relevant experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Tertiary qualifications in Procurement/Supply Chain Management (desirable)
- Excellent safety mindset with the ability to positively influence the culture at Rolleston
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment
