About the role
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the Production Engineer – SLC ensures the effective execution of sub-level caving operations at NPO, emphasizing safe and efficient drill and blast design, performance analysis, and quality assurance to meet business targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering safe and efficient drill & blast designs and plans using Deswik software.
- Communicating daily SLC production plans and weekly schedules, ensuring targets and constraints are being met.
- Managing SLC production data and tracking activities, updating progress tracking level plans.
- Storing and filing drill & blast design files and plans (hardcopies, softcopies, and CAD files).
- Analyzing drill and blast performance, ensuring quality assurance and reviewing practices.
- Tracking explosives consumption and maintaining adequate stock levels.
- Mentoring and training junior engineers, graduates, and operations staff in drill & blast design.
- Demonstrating behaviours aligned with the Evolution Mining values.
About you
The ideal candidate will possess a mining engineering degree (Bachelor or Postgraduate), a manual driver’s license, and NSW Explosives Security Clearance. You must have experience in underground hard rock mining and demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It is essential that you have the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences. You must be able to provide technical expertise and advice to underground personnel, incorporating their feedback to drive performance improvements and innovative problem-solving. You should also be a strong team player, proficient in Deswik.CAD, UGDB, and Microsoft Office.
