Wage: $36 per hour, plus footage bonuses (extra bonuses per day during high season)

Job Requirements
Language: English
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma.
Experience: Must complete with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a diamond drill operator surface drilling.
Security and Safety: Drug test- Zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol; must be able to pass random drug and alcohol tests.
Transportation/Travel Information: Travel expenses paid by the employer.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Handling heavy loads, Repetitive tasks
Work Location Information: Remote location, Various locations, Staff accommodation available, Room and board provided

Equipment and Machinery Experience: Drilling machine. Surface Drilling machine
Other requirements include:
- Proven experience of operating top-drive diamond rigs
- Detailed knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical drilling systems
- Experience of disassembling and reassembling portable diamond rigs
- Proven experience of moving portable diamond drills between drill holes with both helicopters and heavy equipment
- Extensive experience of inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing drill rigs and associated equipment
Job duties and responsibilities include:
- Operating a Kluane Drilling Ltd. custom design top-drive man-portable hydraulic core drill.
- Mobilization to drill rig site; disassembling and moving drill rig between drill holes; reassembling and setting up drill rig for drilling activities; preparing drill rig for further drilling or demobilization from site.
- Casing and coring, reaming, stabilizing, and wedging as required.
- Training, directing, and supervising less experienced Drillers and Drill Helpers, as required.
- Providing technical support to other Drillers and Drill Helpers.
- Providing drilling information and technical support to clients as required for program planning and resolution of technical issues.
- Working closely with the client to meet their drill program expectations.
- Working closely with all members of the Kluane Drilling Ltd. team to provide the best exploration drilling service possible to clients.
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
- Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical problems with drills in an efficient and timely manner to avoid unnecessary downtime.
- Surveying holes with surveying equipment as requested by the client.
- Completing daily activity reports, and accurately logging all activities.
- Maintaining inventory, and ordering parts as required.
- Performing regular inspections and maintenance of all equipment.
