AP/Staff Accountant (New York, NY) FLSA Status: Exempt
Glencore is a natural resource energy trading company. Our back office supports our US trading and operations staff.
Position Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
- Book/Review Overhead AP bills
- Review and input Travel & Entertainment reports for corporate credit card and employee expenses
- Process invoices for payment ACH/Wire/Check
- Review open AP items for aging
- Work with other departments to ensure payments are processed and paid timely
- Review purchase ordered accrued
Month-end closing
- Perform bank reconciliations and research differences
Projects
- Assist with cash related testing; Treasury software/Accounting software (SAP) testing
- Prepare ad-hoc reports based on manager or group needs
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Strong computer/excel skills for using financial accounting systems, spreadsheets, and other software.
- Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
- Ability to monitor and control daily workflow.
- Organized and Detail oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of working independently and within a team environment
- Strong Analytical skills
- Good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- SAP knowledge a plus
Compensation:
- This position can expect between $65-75K annual salary. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
