About The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a
Commercial Specialist to join the Centerra Langeloth team. This position is a hybrid role out of Langeloth, PA, with up to 50% in North America, but some international travel may also be required. Reporting into the VP, Commercial, the Commercial Specialist will be responsible for delivering the sales strategy in North America to support achievement of the company’s key objectives. The role is focused on molybdenum sales accounts but also includes identifying customers and new product portfolio opportunities to drive business growth and deliver the Molybdenum Business Unit strategic plan. This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to support the restart of Thompson Creek mine and the progressive ramp-up of production at Langeloth roaster.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Along-side the VP Commercial, develop and execute the regional near to medium term sales strategy to meet and exceed business objectives and support the development of the global marketing strategy.
- Manage a portfolio of key accounts and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and build trust and work with internal stake holders to ensure an excellent customer experience.
- Understand customer value-in-use and trade-offs to create customer-specific sales solutions.
- Contract execution, working closely with operations planning, sales operations and finance.
- Conducting market research and analysis to understand competitor landscape, identify potential new markets, customer segments, industry trends to identify new routes to market, growth and products.
- Analyze sales data, manage monthly sales forecasts for North American accounts at customer and product level to ensure that the organization has the critical information necessary to forecast cash flow and manage inventories. Make data-driven decisions to maximize value e.g. through additional spot sales.
- Act as a lead source of market, customer and competitor intelligence that feeds into commercial strategy and decision-making.
- Proactively resolve customer issues by acting as the conduit between the customer and the internal support team.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Developing customized proposals and negotiating commercial terms for existing and new business.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Centerra’s products and services.
- Tracking key sales and marketing performance metrics, analyzing results and reporting sales data including providing regular reports to senior management.
- Managing a pipeline of potential leads and opportunities, tracking progress, and ensuring timely follow up.
- Other duties as assigned.
About You
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Sales, Business Admin, or technical e.g. metallurgy, material science, chemistry, chemical engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commodities sales or business development. Technical experience in molybdenum products. Experience in developing new product sales strategies and routes to market is an advantage.
- Experience with market research and industry analysis and sales analysis.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of success in sales and account management.
- Ability to analyze and interpret sales and trade data.
- Able to actively identify and support the management of price risk.
- Self-motivated, goal oriented and capable of working independently across time zones.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic global environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel and attend industry events.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and industry trends.
