Germany Chancellor plans lithium deal with Serbia after Rio ruling
Olaf Scholz plans to visit Serbia this week to secure supplies of lithium that are critical for the nation’s energy transition and auto industry.
Polished diamond sales fell 33% to $1.51 billion in the first half of 2012 from $2.26 billion in the first half of 2012, said Monday Shmuel Mordecahi, responsible for the diamond industry at the Israeli Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour.
According to IsrealiDiamond, Mordechai also noted that the country’s export of rough diamonds fell during the same time period. In the first half of 2011, Israel exported $2,264 billion of rough diamonds, compared with only $1,514 billion in the first half of 2012, a drop of 33%.
