Vancouver, B.C. – Women in Mining Vancouver Branch, with the support of Women in Engineering and Geoscience (DAWEG) and Teck Coal Limited, hosted a networking and information session in Sparwood, BC, on Thursday May 3rd, 2012.
The event was open to men and women, attendees heard the story of our branch, types of events we have, causes we support and conferences where we have a presence. Most importantly attendees started the conversation about organizing themselves, what types of events they might like to have for their group and when they will like to meet
again. We may soon have a new Branch in BC, the Women in Mining Kootenays Branch!
About Women in Mining: The Women in Mining network is an informal organization connecting women involved in or affiliated with the mining resources sector. The primary goal is to share knowledge, experiences and relationships that encourage growth and diversity. A secondary, but equally important goal is to encourage men and women from the breast cancer research, to promote Career Prep for high school students and to take part in networking evenings for university students.
