Mexico’s proposed higher mining royalties could block nearly $7bn in investments
The Mexican government proposed raising mining royalties under the argument that metal prices have risen in recent years.
British Columbia-based Imperial Metals Corp has been granted a mining permit for its Red Chris copper-gold project, which gained provincial and federal environmental approvals in 2005 and 2006, respectively.
