If you’re a miner, you’re most likely a Republican

President Herbert Hoover, Republican and miner
Miners lean conservative according to an analysis of campaign contributions by occupation.
Verdant Labs compiled the study using US political donation data from the FEC.
For every 10 miners who donate to Democrats, another 90 will have donated to Republicans. Interestingly mining engineers side less with Republicans, 18 Democrat donations for every 82 Republican.

Within the resource sector, only oil workers are more conservative than miners.
Though still mostly conservative, forestry workers and farmers all have greater Democrat leanings.
Check out Verdant Lab’s excellent interactive graphic where you can analyze political leanings by occupation.

Basically, if you have a job, you’re most likely Republican. If you are on the dole, you’re most likely Democrat.

Corporate welfare including farms and industry exceeds social welfare spending by several times. The Republicans are the ones on the dole, avoiding taxes and hiding cash. All the while spouting their patriotism.
