Hochschild Mining appoints non-executive director to the board

Hochschild Mining announced Thursday the appointment of Joanna Pearson as an independent non-executive director, taking effect on October 1.

Pearson was formerly executive vice president and chief financial officer of the FTSE 100 company, Endeavour Mining from 2020 – 2023, and, prior to that, was an audit partner at Deloitte LLP, Vancouver for 12 years where she conducted multinational audit engagements for US and Canadian listed companies primarily in mining and emerging markets.

Since June 2021, she has been a non-executive director of Goldshore Resources, a junior resource exploration company listed on the TSX-Venture exchange in Canada, where she also chairs the company’s Audit Committee.

Pearson is a Chartered Professional Accountant of British Columbia.

“I would like to welcome Joanna to the Hochschild Board.  Her skills and experience ensure that the Board remains well-equipped to be able to discharge its financial reporting and risk management responsibilities,” Eduardo Hochschild, chair of the board, said in a statement.

 “We look forward to working together as we enter the final stages of construction at Mara Rosa and implementing our growth strategy.”
