Gold tumbles to $1,720.12/oz

Spot gold has lost $11 since opening on Tuesday and is now trading at $1,720.12/oz.

Some profit taking, chart consolidation and a strong dollar are all pushing bullion down.

Silver is largely unchanged at $32.56/oz.

The election last week was good for gold, having started the month at $1,685/oz.

The deal will merge Gatos’ main Cerro Los Gatos mine with First Majestic’s San Dimas mine in Durango, and its Santa Elena operation in Sonora.
