Gold price firms in holiday-thinned trade, spotlight on Fed and Trump policies

The mill at Osisko Mining’s Canadian Malarctic mine is back in operation after a fire shut it down last week.
The company (TSX:OSK) said today the mill would function at a reduced rate with three of four cyclones and two of three ball mills, as well as the SAG. Repairs on the damaged number 4 cyclone are expected to take about a week. Primary and secondary crushers are undergoing scheduled maintenance and are expected to return to operation by Saturday.
Osisko was up 5.7% today on a generally upbeat session for gold stocks. The S&P/TSX Global Gold Index gained 15.26 points, or 5.67%.
