McEwen Mining Inc. (NYSE: MUX) (TSX: MUX) today reported that the formal investigation into the death of a worker at its Gold Bar mine in Nevada is complete.

The accident, which occurred on May 13, 2019, involved a haul truck that overturned while operating at the site, resulting in the death of the driver. There were no other injuries associated with the accident.

Based on all evidence collected and an autopsy report, the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) — the regulatory body that leads mine accident investigations — has determined that the driver’s death was from natural causes and not related to mining.

The MSHA’s findings confirm the company’s preliminary analysis, which suggested that the truck driver may have suffered a medical emergency while operating the vehicle.
