Alcyone to commission silver mine by September

Mining Weekly reported that Alcyone Resources' (ASX:AYN) Texas project will be fully commissioned by the end of September. The miner said it would bring forward the start of mining in the Twin Hills openpit mine, to late September. This would provide a regular ore feed to the plant and would enable the company to ramp-up to production to the targeted annualised rate by the end of the year.

Optimum Coal says alternative bidder withdraws

Minerals processing and project management company MDM Engineering has been awarded the feasibility study for a 2.4-million-ton-a-year carbon-in-leach (CIL) gold plant, which will treat reclaimed tailings, and a flotation plant to process unrefined tailings for gold miner African Barrick Gold’s 100%-owned subsidiary, the Bulyanhulu gold mine, in Tanzania.

Weir Minerals Africa to supply vibrating screens to Indian miner

Slurry equipment solutions provider Weir Minerals Africa has received its biggest order from India to date. This contract will see Weir Minerals provide seven Linatex vibrating screens of different sizes to RBSSN, a mining and metals company based in Hospet, in northern Karnataka.
