Two recent GE gasification projects with ChinaCoal Shaanxi Yulin Energy & Chemical Company and Guizhou Jinchi Chemical Company successfully highlight the performance and flexibility of GE's gasification technology at large-scale coal-to-chemical facilities and according to the group, "underscore the increasing role GE's gasification technology plays in the expansion of the Chinese economy."

GIW HVF pump solves airlock issue at Mondo talc operation

GIW Industries, a leader in the design, manufacture and application of heavy-duty, centrifugal slurry pumps, has announced that global talc producer Mondo Minerals has installed GIW's High Volume Froth (HVF) pump at its talc processing plant in Outokumpu, Finland. During the pump's first month of operations, the plant was able to stabilise the flotation process and eliminate a safety hazard.

Schade delivering chrome ore scraper system to Kazchrome

Early in 2012, Schade Lagertechnik, part of the AUMUND group, is to deliver a portal scraper with 48 m of rail track and conveying capacity of 500 t/h for chrome ore to TNK Kazchrome in Kazakhstan. It will be employed in Aktobe near the Russian border, in north-west Kazakhstan. Kazchrome is part of the ENRC Group and is a major ferrochrome producer.

Leaders must reject attack on Australian coal industry

The Queensland Resources Council is calling on Premier Anna Bligh and LNP leader Campbell Newman to publicly condemn an environment lobby plan to sabotage the state's leading export industry. Following media reports, Greenpeace has confirmed its leadership of a coalition of international and local environment lobby groups planning to systematically disrupt and delay the Australian coal industry through legal actions and by manipulating community groups.
