XPS Plant Support Group helped commission Nixon Fork mine’s new CIL Plant

Nixon Fork is a gold-copper mine aiming to produce 50,000 oz/y of gold. The mine is a historical producer located within the Tintina gold belt and was recommissioned by Mystery Creek Resources, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fire River Gold. XPS Plant Support Group personnel worked closely with the Nixon Fork owner's team to provide oversight and training during the final stages of construction, and during commissioning of the CIL plant.

ABB and Atlas Copco collaborate on mobile integration system for underground mines

ABB's Minerals/Underground Mining business unit and Atlas Copco Underground Rock Excavation have developed an innovative mobile integration system between ABB's process control System 800xA and Atlas Copco mining machines. The solution is currently installed at the Atlas Copco test mine in Kvarntorp, Sweden. ABB says "it will offer future mine operators unrivalled process control opportunity and information." It will provide machine tracking for greater mining efficiency.
