The Claims are situated immediately adjacent to the eastern border of the Shore Gold Inc. Fort a la Corne project. The survey was completed by Apex Geoscience of Edmonton, Alberta, and included an analysis of the jointly held Fort a la Corne diamond properties in Saskatchewan.

Xstrata Nickel shares $15.2 million of Raglan’s operating profit with Inuit communities

Xstrata Nickel Raglan Mine today presented a cheque in the amount of Cdn$15.2 million to the Makivik Corporation and the Inuit communities of Kangiqsujuaq and Salluit. This sum represents the Inuit communities' share of the profits generated in 2010 by the Raglan nickel mine operation, located in Nunavik, Northern Québec. To date, more than Cdn$100 million in profit-sharing payments have been directed to an Inuit trust fund for economic and community development through the Raglan Agreement.

Stornoway announces exploration drill program at Hammer property, Nunavut

Stornoway Diamond announced plans for an upcoming exploration drill program at the Hammer Property located within the Coronation Gulf/North Slave Diamond District of Nunavut. The Hammer Property is a joint venture between Stornoway (75% and operator) and North Arrow Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:NAR) (25% participating) and hosts the Hammer kimberlite, which was discovered by prospecting in July 2009.

Osisko officially inaugurates the Canadian Malartic Mine

Osisko Mining official inaugurated the Canadian Malartic gold mine, a large-scale open pit mine located in Malartic, Abitibi. Canadian Malartic is Osisko's first mine to go into production. Osisko estimates it will extract more than 9 million ounces of gold at Canadian Malartic from now until 2027. The mine currently employs 465 people.

Black Iron intersects 32.1% iron over 164 meters in Twin Hole at its Shymanivske project in Ukraine

Black Iron reported initial assay results from its ongoing confirmation ("twin hole") and metallurgical diamond drill program at the Company's Shymanivske Iron Ore Project in Ukraine. The Company is encouraged by the results of the initial two holes highlighted by 20342-T that intersected 164 meters grading 32.1% iron, including 83 meters grading 33.8% iron. Iberian Minerals announces purchase of net profit interest from Trafigura and $62 million “bought deal” financing

Iberian Minerals Corp. (TSX VENTURE:IZN) today announced that it has determined to exercise its right to purchase from Trafigura Beheer B.V. its 45.96% net profit interest in Compania Minera Condestable S.A. ("Condestable"), which is the subsidiary through which Iberian holds its approximately 98.73% interest in the Condestable Mine. In accordance with the terms of the CMC Purchase Agreement, Iberian retained the option to purchase the NPI from Trafigura at any time until June 30, 2011 in consideration of the payment of US$60,000,000 (the "NPI Buy-out").
