The items going under the hammer are a selection of prime assets from majormining titan African Barrick Gold, with unused CAT, Toyota, Tamrock, Liners, an entire processing plant and other OEM spares being offered.

The upcoming online auction, set to take place on 27 February, features mining assets such as excavators, graders, tippers, rollers, tankers and various others vehicles and machinery.

A 3,300 ton dragline machine, valued at over R1billion new, has been sold by a major South African mining house for a sum of over R173 million.

The last time such a second hand dragline was sold in South Africa was over 15 years ago.
