Migao reports record year-end results

Migao Corporation (TSX:MGO), a China-based leading specialty potash fertilizer producer, this week reported financial results for the year ended March 31, 2011. Migao reported net income of $34.5 million or $0.66 per basic share from record revenues of $317.0 million (RMB 2.1 billion) for the 12-months ended March 31, 2011 as compared to net income of $38.3 million or $0.80 per basic share from revenues of $269.1 million (RMB 1.7 billion) for the year ended March 31, 2010. EBITDA for the year was $34.5 million as compared to $38.3 million in the prior year.

Nautilus withdraws capital raising

As a result of weak financial market conditions, Nautilus Minerals (TSX:NUS)(AIM:NUS) has decided to withdraw its proposed capital raising. Despite a positive response from investors during marketing of the proposed transaction over the past two weeks, adverse market conditions had meant that it was not in the interests of shareholders for the transaction to proceed.

Barrick offer for Equinox-additional shares acquired

Barrick Gold announced today that an additional 36,221,770 common shares of Equinox Minerals representing approximately 4% of the outstanding Equinox Shares on a fully diluted basis have now been taken up under the offer (the "Offer") by the Offeror to acquire all of the Equinox Shares at a price of C$8.15 per Equinox Share.

Ivanhoe says Oyu Tolgoi construction 23% complete

The total number of workers engaged at the Oyu Tolgoi construction site has more than doubled since March 1, 2011, as part of the build up to the peak of construction and currently stands at 12,497.

Corvus Gold Inc. JV Partner intersects 21.2 metres of 5.8 g/t gold at LMS project, Alaska

Corvus Gold Inc. (TSX:KOR)(OTCQX:CORVF) announces results from the 2011 winter drilling program at the LMS project near Delta Junction, Alaska. The company's joint venture partner, First Star Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:FS) today advised that it completed 640 metres of drilling at the project and that the results include drill hole LM-11-40 which intercepted 21.2 metres grading 5.8 g/t gold and 12.6 g/t silver in the gold-bearing graphitic quartzite breccia, including 5.2 m grading 21.4 g/t gold and 33.5 g/t silver.

E.ON to sue over Germany’s nuclear exit, an industrial info news alert

The German government is facing a major legal battle over its planned early exit from nuclear power as energy giants E.ON AG (PINK:EONGY) (Dusseldorf, Germany) and RWE AG (PINK:RWEOY) (Essen, Germany) want billions of euros in compensation. E.ON made its intentions clear this week when it outlined plans to take legal action against the government's decision to continue demanding its controversial nuclear tax, despite shutting down the oldest nuclear plants. In March, RWE announced that it would take legal action against the government's closure o those seven nuclear plants.

Metinvest-backed united coal plans $350 million investment to expand coal mining in Eastern U.S.

United Coal Company (Blountville, Tennessee), a subsidiary of Ukrainian integrated mining and steel holding company Metinvest Holding LLC (Donetsk, Ukraine), is developing $350 million in coal mine projects in the eastern U.S. United Coal plans to add at least 4 million tons per year of coal mining capacity for use at U.S. locations and for export to Metinvest's steel mills in Europe and Ukraine.
