At a glittering Awards Dinner in Santiago, Dr. Barry Wills, of MEI, was the recipient of one of the minerals industry's highest awards, The Distinguished Service Award of the International Mineral Processing Council (IMPC).

Comminution '14, which was held in Cape Town in April, ended with an excellent panel discussion on the future of comminution, admirably chaired by MEI consultant Dr. Aubrey Mainza, of the University of Cape Town. The four panelists were Dr. Rob Morrison and Prof. Tim Napier-Munn, of Australia's JKMRC, Prof. Marcelo Tavares, of University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Prof. Wolfgang Peukert of University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany.

The 9th International Comminution Symposium (Comminution ‘14), organised by MEI in consultation with Prof Malcolm Powell and Dr Aubrey Mainza, is on track to be the biggest event in the series.

Randy will be presented with the award at Physical Separation '13 in Falmouth in June.
