Egypt finds highly concentrated natural uranium reserve

Egypt discovered a large deposit of natural uranium Sunday, reported Israel’s Walla News.
The country’s Nuclear Materials Authority head, Mohsen Ali Mohammed, said Egypt intends to mine the mineral by offering contracts to international companies.
Last August, Egypt’s president told a group of Egyptian expatriates in China that he was considering reopening the country’s nuclear energy program. The government has said it wanted to renew its plan to build reactors to generate electricity. It also wants to diversify energy resources in order not to rely solely on oil reserves. Some commentators have said Egypt is concerned as well about a nuclear-armed Iran.
