ACG completes acquisition of Gediktepe mine in Türkiye
Gediktepe is currently producing gold and silver from oxide ore, but is expected to transition to primary copper and zinc production from 2026.
Zinc, being so widely spread geographically, and having a low melting point, was discovered sometime prior to the development of first smelting of ores. It commonly occurs with lead and silver in a variety of ores and compounds. It has a silvery lustre and forms a white powder when oxidized.
