Canada losing ground as mining investment destination
Report by the Mining Association of Canada (MAC) says the country is not in a good position to benefit from the increasing number of companies ready to make new and significant investments.
The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is requesting local people send in their opinions about the Blackwater project, New Gold Inc.’s proposed mine in British Columbia.
The FTSE 100 index rose 139 points to 6,037 points, the first time it has been above the 6,000 level in 17 months, with mining shares exceptionally high.
