Los Pelambres, located 240 km north-east of Santiago, is beginning to feel the impact of one of Chile’s worst droughts in the last 12 years.

Chinese state and private investors have spent more than $16 billion over the last decade buying copper mines and projects including nearly 50 in Africa.

Consideration includes $23 million cash and two million common share purchase warrants.

Report comes as Northern Dynasty awaits the results of an appeal to the US government decision to block the Alaska project.
