Rising sale numbers in battery materials supply chains are the consequence of global passenger EV registrations rising by 42% in 2022 H1 compared to the same period the year prior.
The move follows updated guidelines from Canada’s government, released Friday, which make it harder for foreign state-owned companies to pursue deals that target critical minerals.
The certificate of authorization represents an important milestone that would allow Critical Elements to advance project financing discussions to start mine construction.
"Pressure to approve new mines quickly could mean not enough time is allocated for consultation and impact assessment," said Helen Clark, the former New Zealand prime minister and chair of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative.
