After two tumultuous decades, Congo gold miner is back from the brink
In the past 23 years, Banro Corp. had its Congo gold assets seized, got them back, built two mines, closed one after attacks by militants and sought bankruptcy protection.
Exxaro, Harmony, Anglo, Diesel Power and SA Taxi will take a variety of assets to auction during late July. The assets will be sold via a leading online mining auctioneering platform.
The exchange would bid to be involved in a new process, which may turn the current twice-daily gold price-setting conference call into an electronic auction.
