Antipa Minerals has been one of first juniors to benefit from Rio Tinto’s push to find the mines of the future by expanding its pipeline of greenfield exploration projects.
The approval will include “the same rights and the same level of legal and fiscal certainty provided under its contract of work,” the company said without elaborating.
Six people have been killed in anti-mining protests so far this year, including three at last week's clash between police and locals near Las Bambas copper mine.
