As Canada’s Lucara Diamond seeks new mines, tech fuels growth
Lucara, which has recovered two of the largest diamonds in recent history, is turning to technology to ensure growth in an industry where new mine acquisitions remain elusive.
The permit marks another key step in the process of moving towards development of the 1.45 million carat diamond resource in the West African country, said the company.
Mining in the area of the Andes mountains right above the continuous tree line had been prohibited since 2011, but concessions granted before such ban had continued to date.
