The inaugural ‘Responsible Capitalism’ survey in late 2021 found that 88% of institutional investors now see ESG factors as more important than traditional financial metrics when making long-term investment decisions.
The 14-week program at Collège Boréal, called Mining Potential, will launch at its campuses in Sudbury and Timmins to expose students to the mining industry and prepare them for entry-level jobs.
“To get to zero emissions, we need metals. It would be the largest boom the mining industry has seen since the California Gold Rush of 1849. The demand would be infinite.”
The association, which includes about 50 of Canada’s leading mining companies, is developing an “equity, diversity, and inclusion” protocol as part of its existing Toward Sustainable Mining program.
