Burkina Faso to end tycoon Frank Timis’s manganese mining contract
Timis's Pan African Burkina Limited (PAB) acquired the rights to the Tambao mine, which it says holds 100 million tonnes of manganese reserves, in June 2012.
Talon said the submittal covers several key aspects of the Tamarack nickel project, including no crushing or processing of ore at the mine site and water treatment.
Minto Metals' mining site was inspected on April 26, finding that its storage capacity for contaminated water in an open pit and tailings waste management were unsatisfactory.
