Nelson Pizarro wants to remain at the helm of the world’s biggest copper company until he can cut the ribbon on a project to convert its flagship pit into a giant underground mine.
Deal expands Fortuna's footprint in West Africa, where it has the Yaramoko gold mining complex in Burkina Faso and the Séguéla project in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Arizona-based project is the first mining asset added to the FAST-41 process, which speeds up development of clean energy and other infrastructure.
