Environmental campaigners are challenging the approval of a coking coal mine in northwest England.
Despite the latest round of UN climate change negotiations concluding in Cancun at the end of 2010 and a temporary hiatus in climate talks until Bangkok in April, it has still been a busy start to the year on energy and environment issues, with a number of important meetings and consultations taking place.
