Breaker Technology, Inc. (BTI) will be exhibiting their innovative VP285 Vibratory Pick scaling device at MINExpo 2008

Breaker Technology, Inc. (BTI) will be exhibiting their innovative VP285 Vibratory Pick scaling device at MINExpo 2008, Las Vegas – Booth C-8571.

This patented technology has integrated a hybrid hydraulic breaker within a scaling pick. This unique concept in scaling combines the features and benefits of both a conventional pick and a hydraulic breaker, with proven production increases of up to 50%.

Its streamlined design provides excellent visibility to the tool in all scaling modes. The robust design allows the transfer of full boom pry forces of the carrier to the scaling surface and gives complete protection to the breaker. The VP285 is suitable for both BTI’s low profile DS Series scalers and their QS Series high reach scalers (45′ and 50′ models).

The VP Series of scaling pick doesn’t mine the rock, but breaks the loose free, avoiding damage to the carrier thereby extending the life of the equipment.

Also on display at MINExpo will be:

SCT Series Shotcrete Transport vehicle, a heavy duty, low profile unit specifically designed for remix operations in underground applications. Bi-directional rotation of the drum allows variable mixing or discharge rate proportional to rotation speed.  Remix drums are available from 3 to 6 cubic meters – 3 and 4 cubic meter drums can be provided on BTI’s unique cassette system frame along with their MPV-Multi Purpose Vehicle carrier.

MRH Series Rockbreaker System, the latest BTI boom system design suitable for secondary breaking of oversize materials at grizzles and crushers as well as slag removal and clean out of furnaces, ladles, soaking pits, etc. in metallurgical industries is available with 16′, 20′ and 25′ reach. Its bent plate design has high stress tolerance and flexibility, with plate reinforcement at joints to prevent distortion from side loads caused by raking material in the crusher. Inventory requirements are reduced due to identical cylinders being used for hoist, dipper and tilt, and common hydraulic tube assemblies. Use of the same pedestal footprint as its predecessor, the TM Series, allows for complete interchangeability and easy field replacement.

BTI designs, manufactures and markets hydraulic rockbreaker systems for mining, quarrying and recycling industries in addition to a complete line of mobile mining equipment. The company also markets a complete line of hydraulic attachments including breakers, compactors and demolition attachments to the construction and demolition industries through an extensive worldwide dealer network. BTI has three locations in North America to support this network, Thornbury, ON Canada; Solon, OH and Riverside, CA.
