Lucapa Diamond to restart halted Merlin mine
The phased approach will begin with an 18-month initial phase focused on excavating and dredging five existing pits.
Botswana Diamonds (LON:BOD) executive chairman, John Teeling (pictured), told shareholders on Thursday the company had applied for 12 new exploration licences and was taking other big steps to becoming a major player in the diamond industry.
“These were exciting times for the company,” said Teeling, adding that Botswana was currently finalizing the legal details of a formal joint venture with the undisclosed owner – a major international diamond producer – of a new technology the company has recently applied.
The diamond exploration company will undertake detailed ground prospecting once the exploration licences are obtained.
