Mining equipment manufacturer Caterpillar said its largest customers are see growth returning to the mining industry in the next 18 months. They believe the price of copper is a key indicator in a turnaround.

In April of 2007, Bucyrus Field Services began the disassembly and relocation of a Bucyrus 8200M in West Virginia and on March 1, 2008 the dragline walked across State Highway 7 in Texas to its new home at the Kosse Mine.

On March 3, 2009, Bucyrus’s manufacturing plant in Langfang, China, received an important Safety Advancement Award by the Administration of Langfang Development Zone as a result of its safety achievements in 2008.
