Sierra Leone woos miners to clean energy with $11 billion plan
Most mining firms rely on their own diesel supplies to extract iron ore, diamonds, rutile and bauxite in the resource-rich country.
SYDNEY (Thomson Financial) – Australian construction and contract miner Leighton Holdings Ltd said on Monday its HWE Mining unit has been awarded a A$344 million ($319 million) contract at Rio Tinto’s Mesa A iron ore operation in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. More at Interactive Investor
