Addressing future leaders of the resources industry, Chairman of the AusIMM EEF Board of Trustees, Jared Osbourne FAusIMM announced that the 2021 AusIMM EEF Scholarship provides support to students throughout their higher education studies to kick start their career in the mining sector.
The AusIMM EEF Scholarships offer essential financial support for students during their studies, access to high quality mentoring from an industry expert and the opportunity to develop personal and professional skills to help them enter the industry.
2021 scholarship winners will also participate in a one-week expenses paid intensive field trip to a resource-rich region of Australia.
AusIMM CEO Stephen Durkin said that the EEF Scholarship program “provides recipients with a mix of field-based learning, personal development, mentoring and study support to give them a head-start in their mining careers.”
Durkin highlighted the role of the EEF Scholarship in helping to develop a work-ready talent pool of future mining professionals.
“The EEF Scholarship program is an important part of AusIMM’s work to welcome, support and develop a diverse pipeline of emerging professionals into the resources sector,” he said.
The latest New Leaders Online conference had over 400 delegates attending. This year the new online delivery format, AusIMM saw a significant increase in the number of international delegates, allowing a global audience to receive advice and guidance from industry leaders on beginning a career in resources.
