Mining’s old guard needs strong medicine
A new report details subpar investor returns in the mining industry over the last decade, particularly big cap diversified companies which have not adapted to new realities.
Solid Gold Resources Corp. (“Solid Gold”) (TSX VENTURE:SLD) reports that The Wahgoshig First Nation has issued a claim against Her Majesty The Queen In Right of Ontario and Solid Gold Resources Corp. Among other things, the claim states that “the mining act does not establish any requirement on the Crown or the holder of a prospectors licence to consult or accommodate aboriginal communities” therefore the act “is unconstitutional and of no force and effect”.
