American Augers / Trencor defines itself as “second-to-none in underground construction equipment.” Its portfolio includes boring machines, maxi-rig and mid-size directional drills, mud pumps and cleaning systems, trenchers and surface miners, among others.
According to the Ohio-based company’s spokespeople, the T1460 mechanical drive chain surface miner is one of their bestsellers because it is able to produce up to 16,000 psi rock.
Nevertheless, the machine was in need of some upgrades to enhance the strength and performance in limestone quarries. Such upgrades were recently introduced and presented at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017.
