Germany Chancellor plans lithium deal with Serbia after Rio ruling
Olaf Scholz plans to visit Serbia this week to secure supplies of lithium that are critical for the nation’s energy transition and auto industry.
Al Gore’s latest blog entry reads: The leaders of the top environmental groups in the country, the Republican Governor of Nebraska, and millions of people around the country – including hundreds of people who have bravely participated in civil disobedience at the White House – all agree on one thing: President Obama should block a planned pipeline from the tar sands of Alberta to the Gulf of Mexico.
The tar sands are the dirtiest source of fuel on the planet. As I wrote in Our Choice two years ago, gasoline made from the tar sands gives a Toyota Prius the same impact on climate as a Hummer using gasoline made from oil. This pipeline would be an enormous mistake. The answer to our climate, energy and economic challenges does not lie in burning more dirty fossil fuels – instead, we must continue to press for much more rapid development of renewable energy and energy efficient technologies and cuts in the pollution that causes global warming.

All Gore needs to check his facts. Mr. Gore needs to look at full cycle emissions from production through refining of crudes from the Middle East that the US depends on. He would find that the crudes produced from the oilsands in Canada, especially those through insitu-recover methods are much less environmentally damaging than he claims.
Also, if Mr. Gore wants to tout the Prius -vs- a Hummer, I wonder if he has thought about the environmental impacts associated with the manufacturing of all of the electronics and batteries and the disposal of those items. In reality, it is allot less black and white. I am a stanch supporter of a cleaner environment, but I also expect our environmental leaders to be responsible and distort the truth to fit their needs, as Mr. Gore has done here.

Wow! Hard to believe that a country that has slaughtered innocent men, women , and children for oil can talk about ethical oil. And yes the pipeline will go ahead as planned. If America could take over our oil sands they would do it in a heartbeat using their military if necessary. They want our countries resources so bad that they would kill us for it if they knew they could get away with it.

I remember reading not too long ago how one eruption from the iceland volcano put more carbon into the atmosphere then all the cars driving in Europe would driving all year. What about all the jobs created by the oil and gas Industries, incomes for real hard working families. I did not see Al Gore or Obama trying to stop jobs going to off shore countries-all the cargo ships , trucks trains planes shipping stuff from over seas back to America that used to be made in America. ALL THAT TRANSPORTATION PUTS MORE CARBON INTO THE ATMOSPHERE THAN THE OIL SANDS EVER WOULD. GEE I WONDER WHY UNEMPLOYMENT IS SO HIGH?

Mr, Gore dad use to own a coal company and it was one of the worst companies out there. Where do you think his dad made his money… of CARBONS…. maybe dirty but it put All Gore threw college and put food in his stomach… All Gore you are a dirty dog..
