Working in the raw materials sector, there are always new skills one can obtain in order to increase your knowledge and add value to your role. Time is often a factor that holds you back from those new skills.
As part of the EIT RawMaterials High Level Professional School, the Regional Centre Freiberg has developed Professional Short Courses with busy individuals like you in mind. They have developed a range of short courses that are aimed at transferring knowledge obtained from research into the industry. EIT RawMaterials has partnered with some of the industries finest to help design courses that are in line with industry requirements today. Participants will profit from this approach because all contents are applicable in real work environments and not just theoretic knowledge. Due to small participant group sizes, there is always room for questions and specific examples –EIT RawMaterials Regional Center Freiberg also allows you to submit questions beforehand so course contents can take special interests into account.
The courses are part of the EIT – the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. The initial concept for a European Institute of Technology was based on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which is renowned for its combination of world-class education and research. The EIT consists of several Knowledge and Innovation Communities – one of these is the EIT RawMaterials.
EIT RawMaterials, initiated by the EIT and funded by the European Commission, is the largest and strongest consortium in the raw materials sector worldwide. Its vision is an European Union where raw materials are a major strength. Its mission is to boost competitiveness, growth and attractiveness of the European raw materials sector via radical innovation and guided entrepreneurship. EIT RawMaterials unites more than 100 partners – academic and research institutions as well as industry partners – from more than 20 EU countries. They collaborate on finding new, innovative solutions to secure the supplies and improve the raw materials sector all along its value chain – from extraction to processing, from recycling to reuse.
EIT RawMaterials will generate a significant impact on European competitiveness and employment by driving and fostering innovation and empowering students, entrepreneurs and education partners driving toward the circular economy. This will result in the introduction of innovative and sustainable products, processes and services, as well as talented people that will deliver increased economic, environmental and social sustainability to European society.
As part of the EIT education projects professional short courses will be offered for all professionals in the raw materials sector. Some courses will be designed to teach state of the art knowledge and others will teach beyond textbook knowledge. We hire world leading specialists to teach their experience, knowledge and insights to the participants. This means that the content of the teaching are the latest results, findings and theoretical approaches, which have a high potential for innovation by implementation and therefore probably will be in the text books of the next generation. Courses can take place anywhere in Europe.
The first courses are already online and the portfolio will only grow in the months and years to come.
