India tops the global ranking with demand nearly 50 times that of its mined supply.
A comparison of major mining hubs show that Vancouver is still far and away the preferred city to set up company headquarters.
According to Mining Intelligence, which tracks listed mining companies worldwide, there are over 1,400 mining businesses headquartered in Vancouver. Toronto has 560 listings. Up next is London with 158, Perth at 122 and Johannesburg with less than 70.
These are listings combining both miners and juniors.
