Vermeer’s solution for sites with drill and blast restrictions

Iron ore and limestone sites around the world are increasingly using Vermeer’s T1255 Trencher, said the company’s Corporate Account Manager Brandon Albers.

Interviewed by MINING.com’s Michael McCrae at CONEXPO-CON/AGG, Alberts highlighted how the machine is ideal for such operations, as it is designed to cut through solid rock in large-diameter applications.

The executive also praised the T1255 dust suppression system, meant to be used in places facing drill and blast restrictions and which also provides a reduction in noise and vibration. “As we are cutting, we are collecting all of those elements and they are not being added to the air,” he said.

Albers added that the machine also produces smaller, more consistent particle size, which helps to eliminate the primary crusher step.
